Mia Johnson is a versatile dance artist with experience in various movement styles and approaches. She began dancing in street styles-based freestyle and commercial choreography, then progressed into training in Hip Hop, Modern, Ballet, West African, and composition at TU Dance Center, Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, and the larger dance community. She graduated with a BA in Dance from the University of Minnesota. She currently trains as “Twin FW.K.D” in KRUMP under Herb Johnson, aka “Fair Warning”, since 2016, and has participated in various KRUMP battles, workshops, sessions, and performances around the country.

Mia’s performance experience includes work in hip hop collective “S.H.E.- She Who Holds Everything” under directors Al Taw’am, Maia Maiden Productions’ “Rooted: A Hip Hop Choreographer’s Evening” with multiple choreographers – a production in which Mia also premiered a self-choreographed piece, and “Mixtape” productions with choreographers Herb Johnson and Jason Noer. She also has significant teaching experience as a Hip Hop, KRUMP, and Creative Movement teacher working with organizations such as House of Dance Twin Cities, TU Dance, and more.
