Build-Your-Own Miniature Golf Gala
April
Young Dance’s annual fundraising event is our Build-Your-Own Miniature Golf Gala, which typically takes place in April.
From 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., individuals and teams build a golf hole, which, when joined together, make up the course. Anyone can participate and it’s free to build!
At 4:00 p.m., the course opens and all are welcome! Golfers are invited to pay-what-they-can to play with a suggested donation of $15 per person. The course is open until 6:00 p.m.
Some families spend the entire afternoon with us, building a hole first and then staying to play the course. Others arrive at 4:00 or 4:30, grab a beer or snack, and take their time playing the course. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure kind of an event, which is part of what makes it so special.

The build (1:00 to 4:00 p.m.):
This unique event invites children and adults alike to tap into their most creative selves. With the support of onsite sponsors, individuals and teams spend the first three hours of the event building a golf hole, which together make up the course. Young Dance and sponsor organizations provide basic materials, such as cardboard, tubes, paint, fabric, and wood, but builders are encouraged to bring additional supplies to realize their vision inspired by the annual theme.
Pay-to-play (4:00 to 6:00 p.m.):
At 4:00 p.m., the course opens to the public for gameplay. Choose your own price to participate, with a suggested donation of $15 per person. All proceeds directly support Young Dance’s mission of transforming lives through movement by expanding access to its inclusive dance programming.
