Capoeira

Experience the Afro-Brazilian art of Capoeira, the intersection of dance, acrobatics, martial arts, music, and culture. Students will develop their confidence through artistry while building community as they learn Capoeira movements, learn to play traditional instruments and sing music in Portuguese. Ages 10–18

All Abilities Dancing 1

All Abilities Dancing classes are a supportive, community-minded environment for youth living with and without disabilities to express themselves through movement. This class will focus on positive body awareness, creativity, teamwork, motor coordination, and personal expression. Ages 7–11

Breaking 1

Students will learn the fundamentals of breaking, including Toprocks, Go-downs, Footwork, Powermoves, and Freezes, in a supportive environment. In addition to learning technique, dancers will have opportunities to advance their freestyle/improvisation skills, as well as to develop choreography collaboratively with their peers. For ages 7-13. For ages 10-18. Dancers ages 10-13 with at least two years of Breaking experience may register for Breaking 2. Dancers ages 14-18 may register with no prior Breaking experience. Dance + Photography

Experience the intersection of dance and photography! Participants will take a daily group photo walk (weather permitting) to learn photography fundamentals, followed by a movement session to apply those skills to dance-making. Creative Movement 1

Creative Movement classes offer a fun environment for children to play, explore, improvise, and express themselves through movement. Dancers develop gross and fine motor skills, as well as coordination, rhythm, teamwork, and listening skills. Ages 3–5

Creative Movement 2

In Creative Movement 2, children learn the structure of a dance class and terminology through improvisation and games. Young dancers are challenged with more complex routines exploring the dance concepts of Body, Action, Space, Time, and Energy. Ages 5–7

Musical Theater

In Musical Theater, dancers will draw from a breadth of styles to bring some of their favorite songs and stories to life. Young dancers will learn technique, develop improvisation skills, and build their own choreography in a fun, thoughtful, and supportive environment. Ages 8–14

Creative Movement 3

Creative Movement 3 is great for dancers who may not be interested in a more formal technique class. Dancers further their understanding and exploration of the Elements of Dance (Body, Action, Space, Time, and Energy) through activities emphasizing improvisation, teamwork, partnering, and creativity. Modern 3 offers a safe and supportive environment for young dancers to gain skills and confidence through technique and improvisation. Modern 4

Babywearing Dance

Connect with your baby through dance! Sway, step, bounce, and more with other new parents. Bring your carrier of choice or hold your baby.
