Shannon Hartle Dolan (hear it) is from Des Moines, Iowa where she started her dance training at a very young age. Shannon graduated high school early to attend Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary Trainee Program in NYC before attending college. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 2019 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Minor in Communication Studies, and a Certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship.  During her time at UI, she worked with Monica Bill Barnes, Jennifer Kayle, Christopher Rasheem-McMillan, Eloy Barragan, Armando Duarte, and performed in many additional faculty, MFA student, and undergrad student works. She toured with University of Iowa’s Dancers in Company along with traveling to perform at ACDA, the American Dance Guild, and Hollins University. While she was in school, she began seriously teaching and did an independent study in higher level education dance pedagogy as well as a mentorship program with the University of Iowa Youth Ballet. Now, she resides in the Twin Cities area and is a company member with Threads Dance Project and actively participates in project based work throughout the cities. She also is the co-director of the International ScreenDance Festival and is passionate about sharing art with people across the world. She recently started Beyond the Mirror: Artistic Pursuit, which is a company that strives to give students the tools they need to succeed in the bodies they have. She enjoys coaching her students through challenges, because she loves watching them succeed.
