Alexandra Beaumont

Alex Beaumont, is a textile and movement artist. Beaumont, a black, mixed-race woman born and raised in South Carolina, is currently a Workroom Resident at Young Dance.

“My work explores personal and collective joy, restoration, and expansiveness, using the language of parade and group movement.  My collaboration with the Young Dance company will compile and reconfigure common social dance gestures, finding new connections to old forms of celebration.“
