Margo Bock is known in her Taiji family as Zi Yan, or “Purple Swallow”, a name given by her teacher. An 18-year practitioner of Yang-Style Taiji and a proud 7th-Generation lineage holder, Margo’s practice spans a rich landscape of internal arts. Her favorite Taiji movement is Parting Wild Horse’s Mane.

Margo teaches the way she lives: learn by doing, try your best, and trust that we all get better with practice. At home, Margo shares her space with two cats, Geordi and Alice, who have appointed themselves her personal Taiji coaches by demonstrating empty steps and whole-body power daily, usually while playing sneak, leap or chase. When she’s not cultivating inner stillness or absorbing feline wisdom, she can be found biking or curled up with a good book.
