Kari Mosel
Teaching Artist
She/Her
Kari Mosel is from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where she spent her childhood riding horses, climbing trees, and occasionally tripping over her own feet. She earned her BFA in Dance from the University of Minnesota in 2004. Kari began her professional dance career in 2002 with an apprenticeship with Shapiro & Smith Dance, later becoming a company member in 2006, a role she held until 2019. During that time, she also served as their administrative assistant and board secretary. Additionally, she was a company member and Teaching Artist with Stuart Pimsler Dance & Theater from 2005 to 2018.
Over the past six years, she and her partner have relocated several times—from Saint Paul, MN, to Seattle, WA, to Lewiston, ME, and back to Saint Paul. In early 2020, she began working remotely as Development & Marketing Coordinator for TU Dance, later taking on the role of Operations Manager. Kari is a recipient of the 2013 McKnight Artist Fellowship for Dancers and received a nomination for the 2012 SAGE Dance Award for “Outstanding Performer.” In the spring of 2018, she obtained her A.A.S. degree in Photography and Digital Imaging.
In 2021, she and her partner welcomed the arrival of their daughter, who brings an abundance of love, laughter, and surprises into their lives. In addition to being a mother, spouse and operations manager, Kari is hoping to continue challenging herself as a freelance photographer and artist back in the Twin Cities. Kari Mosel Photography
