She/Her
Julia Davidson is a dancer, teacher, writer, arts administrator and parent. She received her B.A. in Performance Studies from Macalester College and M.A. in Dance from Mills College.
As an administrator, Julia co-helmed Paufve Dance and regularly worked with inkBoat theater and dance company and Jinza Thayer | Movement Architecture. With these artists, Julia has helped envision artistic projects from the ground up, mount mainstage productions, coordinate online premieres and secure funding from the New England Arts Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Fulbright Scholar Program, California Arts Council, the Zellerbach Family Foundation, Kenneth Rainin Foundation, Dancer’s Group CA$H grant, Sam Mazza Foundation, Minnesota State Arts Board and Minnesota Regional Arts Council.
As a teaching artist, Julia’s practice has been deepened by workshops and courses at Luna Dance Institute and with Axis Dance Company. Julia does her best to keep up with the brilliant toddlers, elementary school children, and grownups at Young Dance and Northfield Dance Academy and is a firm believer that colorful scarves and egg shakers can bring out the dancer in anyone.
