Emily Urban

Emily Urban is a versatile collaborative pianist and musical director based in the Twin Cities.  She works in a wide variety of venues, including musical theater, opera, recitals, competitions, vocal coaching/accompanying, and musical directing. Ms. Urban earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical  Theater Performance from Syracuse University. After working in New  York City for several years as a vocal coach and audition/rehearsal accompanist, she returned to Minnesota and has been a Staff Accompanist at Bethel University since 2005. Ms. Urban served as the accompanist for The Minnesota Opera’s “Voices of Opera” and “Showtunes with Sara” programs, in addition to working as a vocal coach with their youth programs, including “Project Opera” and their summer opera camps. She is highly sought after to accompany high school/college, church, and professional choirs, as well as regional honors choirs and choral festivals, throughout the year. Other theater and opera companies she has worked with in the Twin Cities include The Guthrie Theater, Nautilus Music Theater, Minneapolis Musical Theatre, The Gilbert and Sullivan Very Light Opera Company, The Zephyr Theater, Theatre de la Jeune Lune, Artistry, Opera on  Tap, The Lake Area Music Festival, and the Bethel University Summer Theater.
