Dance for All Abilities

The All Abilities program is designed to give youth and adults living with and without disabilities a quality dance experience that emphasizes ability and redefines dance for our community.

Young Dance developed the All Abilities program in 2010. What started as adaptive dance classes has evolved to engage students and teachers in a reflective inquiry redefining Young Dance classes and performances at all levels of our organization. We have learned that rich value lies not in “adapting” traditional dance movement to someone else’s abilities, but in translating the movement language created on one body to the unique language of another person’s body.
